S7 Interview Workshop was held on 10/1/2008 . In that afternoon, we were honoured to have 9 alumni coming to our school to be interviewers and observers. Before that day, seven job vacancies, offered by our alumni, were given to students. They had to choose the job they were interested in and wrote application letter and resume to apply for the post they wanted. Teachers then put students into groups according to their preference.

On that day, students could wear formal clothing and girls were allowed to wear simple make-up for the interview. There were three rounds before the most outstanding interviewee was chosen. There were group interview and individual interview. The whole workshop was conducted in three languages including English, Putonghua and Cantonese. The most important part was the last session when our students were given lots of practical advice and feedback from our alumni.

Wong Tik Ying (7S), who was chosen as the Most Outstanding Interviewee that afternoon, said that he learnt a lot from the workshop. He was asked whether he had made any mistakes in his part time job before. Instead of just telling the interviewers what he had done wrong, Tik Ying impressed everybody by saying what remedy he had done and what he could learn from this experience. Tik Ying noticed that being flexible is as important as getting good grades in examinations. He also advised others to give announcements in the morning lining-up so that they would not be so nervous during the interview.
